Harbours at First Light: Ropes, gulls, and kettles before the town wakes

You arrive at the harbour while the sky is still a bruised grey, before the engines start and the first shop opens its shutters. Rowan Whitmore's voice moves through the space like fog off the water: low, unhurried, with room between each sentence for you to settle into your own breathing. You will learn to notice what the tide arranges on the stones: shells, frayed rope, the small archaeology of a working coast. You will sit with the cold hour when nothing moves but gulls, and listen to their arguments overhead. You will watch someone tend a rope with the patience of a person who knows the day has not truly begun until the kettle boils.
